Maths U-Shaped Charity Walk in aid of Worshipful Company of Actuaries' Charity

Master Actuary and WCA Liverymen is raising money for The Worshipful Company of Actuaries Charity

WCA U-Shaped Fun Maths Charity Walk · 14 May 2026

We support mathematical and financial education charities and provide bursaries and prizes to aspiring actuaries. We also support charities connected with the City of London and those where an actuary is involved.

Story

The WCAC's mission is to make a positive social impact, focusing on maths education and support within the community. It supports charities involving maths or actuarial science education as well as those with an actuary involved, City of London charities and supporting actuaries of the future.

Many WCA Liverymen have volunteered in the community with charities the livery is involved with at schools, universities and in prisons, so this charity walk will hopefully raise awareness of maths being fun and something for everyone, whatever your background.

Some of the charities supported will be seen along the way, from the Royal Institution, who work on Maths Masterclasses, the group will take a U-Shaped to showcase the work of U-Maths which champions excellence and equity in maths education at University Maths Schools for 16-19 year olds, finishing in the City of London, where WCAC supports a range of charities too.

WCA Master, Emma McWilliam, Senior Warden, Derek Newton, Court Assistants, Dan Diggins, Paul McNamara, Jake Iverson, Past Master, Rodney Jagelman, Trustee, Jill Ampleford and Liverymen Rosie Fantom Tom Kenny, Colin Mayer, David Simmons, Tim Palmer and Richard Abramson and guests will all be walking across London in aid of the amazing work of WCA Charity.
