24 hour DANCE-A-THON · 22 March 2025

Kids on Track exists to provide an enrichment programme for children from disadvantaged areas of Andover, that will help develop a positive mind-set and build confidence, so that these children can achieve their full potential. Kids on Track works with local schools and social services to identify children that could benefit from additional support. We currently have 48 children attending activity camps during the school holidays. Activities regularly include sport, arts and craft, cooking, music and drama, together with specialist events such as street dance, circus skills and woodland den building. The aims of the camps are: To provide an opportunity for children to have fun during holidays To broaden experience To develop confidence To develop social and emotional skills such as teamwork/ co-operation In addition, we run after school activity clubs at local secondary schools for the Kids on Track children currently attending those schools. The activity clubs fulfil a similar and supplementary role to the camps, providing a little extra interaction and development of a key life-skills eg cooking and nutrition.

Story

This year’s Wingfield Digby fundraising event is a 24 hour DANCE-A-THON! This means that from 8.30am on 22nd March until 8.30am on 23rd March a member of the house will be dancing non-stop for 24 hours!!

This year we are raising money for ‘’Kids On Track Andover”, this is a charity that that offers children a chance to attend non-residential holiday camps, to participate in a range of after-school activities, local day trips as well as a mentoring program.  The charity works closely with the children, their families, social services and schools to provide an extra level of support where it is needed. As a charity ‘Kids On Track Andover’ is also very close to lots of the girls, with several being volunteers at their holiday camps.

Here is a short video, to show a snapshot of the amazing work that they do to support local young people:
