Weald School Greenpower Racing Team

Chris Evans is raising money for Weald School Charitable Trust
We raise funds to advance the education of pupils of the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities not normally funded by the Local Authority. Our current main fundraising is for a new Minibus for the School

Story

Greenpower is a STEM project that has been running for over 25 years and the Weald School has been involved since the start. Essentially students design, build and race electric racing cars.

We are lucky to have 4 racing cars that are suitable for different sizes and abilities of driver and we try to give as many students as possible the opportunity to go racing. We race in the F24 and F24+ series at circuits including Goodwood, Castle Combe, Lotus, Blyton Park, Mallory Park, Bedford Aerodrome.

It costs money to attend each race and to keep the cars raceworthy; the students pay an annual donation towards the race fees but we still have to raise £2,000-£3,000 through grants and donations from local companies and charities including the local Lions club, CEVAC, Horsham District Council and British Gas.
