A number of friends and colleagues of Scott Weetch are running the excellent 'Steaming to the Coast' event on the 12th April in memory of our good friend Scott who passed away this time last year. Scott worked at Somerset Council for many years and was a keen champion of the community through his partnership working and was well known as a keen distance runner. The organisers of this event, the brilliant ChannelEvents have nominated this race to be known as the Scott Weetch Memorial Race so it is fitting that we have entered this.

Along with myself and my wife Ruth, others participating on this JustGiving page are Mark Leeman, James Barrah, Emily Vining, Helen Phillips, Hattie Winter, Vikki Hearn, Jo Comer, Louisa Hill, Claire Thackray, Steve Perkins, Stephen Boland, Catrin Harry and Matt Hill.

In our group we have a range of abilities from those walking 11km, those running the 11 mile route and some foolhardy enough to take on the full marathon across the Quantocks! We are all united in our love and respect for our dear friend Scott and are doing this event in his memory and to raise money for 'Stand Against Violence' a charity that was close to his heart since its inception.
