Story
This October, I’m running the 21km Kingston Half Marathon to raise funds for SeeBeyondBorders UK, a UK-registered charity supporting education programmes in rural Cambodia.
Having grown up in Cambodia, this is a cause that means a lot to me. I’ve been extremely fortunate to receive a quality education, a privilege that can easily be taken for granted but remains out of reach for many people in Cambodia.
Supporting and increasing access to quality education feels especially important in this period, with 100,000+ young students having been displaced following the border conflict late last year.
SeeBeyondBorders supports primary school teachers through training, mentoring and professional development, helping them build the skills needed to provide better education for children in their communities. Since 2009, the organisation has trained 523 teachers across 199 schools, reaching around 27,000 children.
Thank you for your support and contribution. Every donation, big or small, would mean a lot and help support SeeBeyondBorders UK’s work, bringing us one step closer to a Cambodia where access to quality education is no longer a barrier for families.
