This year, our family is taking on the Great North Run together! I’ll be running my first-ever half marathon alongside my mum, while my two daughters, aged 8 and 12, will be racing in the AJ Bell Junior & Mini Great North Run. This challenge isn’t just about crossing the finish line—it’s about making a real difference for children who need it most.

I feel incredibly lucky that my daughters are healthy, but so many families face daily struggles caring for children with complex needs. No child should miss out on the joy of childhood, and without support, many do. That’s why we’re running for WellChild, a charity that helps seriously ill children receive the care they need at home, easing the burden on families and giving them a better quality of life.
