Wendy & Lucy’s fundraiser for Breast Cancer UK

Lucy and Wendy is raising money for Breast Cancer UK

Team: Team fundraising for Breast Cancer UK

Sing for life Nottingham 2026 · 29 March 2026

Breast Cancer UK raises awareness of the preventable risk factors for breast cancer. We provide practical information to help lower people’s risk. We campaign for policy change to support prevention, and fund scientific research to help improve our understanding of how to stop the disease.

Story

Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. Over 55,000 women and 390 men a year are diagnosed with breast cancer. Yet around a third of these cases are preventable.

Breast Cancer UK is working to prevent breast cancer through education, scientific research, collaboration and policy change.

We will be singing our hearts out on the 29th of March at the Nottingham Albert Hall, with our choir of wonderful ladies!

From Wendy:

In August 2022 my routine breast screening revealed I had breast cancer. The invaluable research from breast cancer uk contributed immensely to type of treatment & order of my plan. In Jan 2024 I rang the bell! I am eternally grateful to the continuing research & would like to support it. When the opportunity came up to join the Sing for Life choir to raise funds for the breast cancer uk I was pleased to feel I could contribute.

Please can I ask my family & friends to donate! Nothing will be too small.

From Lucy:

This is a cause close to my heart as my mum survived breast cancer and it’s an honour to do this along side Wendy too. The work and advancements taking place and the people involved are all amazing and I would love to contribute.

We have many mutual friends and didn’t want people to feel they need to give to us both so have joined together. We appreciate any donation, every little counts.
