Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am taking part in Colour Dash this year with 2 amazing colleagues Miriam, our Living Well Nurse and Kirstey, our Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner. Here is a little bit about why we are fundraising for The Ayrshire Hospice.

The Ayrshire Hospice provides excellence in palliative and end of life care to people and their families affected by life-limiting illnesses across Ayrshire and Arran. We support people who are aged 16 years and over, who have a diagnosis that is life limiting - this includes respiratory and heart disease, neurological conditions as well as cancers and other illnesses. Where necessary, we provide seamless transition from young adult hospice services to our care.

I am the Specialist Occupational Therapist (OT) working as part of the Living Well Service at Ayrshire Hospice. We provide support within our in-patient unit, pan-Ayrshire living well community hubs and 1:1 clinics. The aim of Specialist Palliative Care Occupational Therapy is to enable adults living with a life limiting condition, to adjust and feel empowered to achieve what matters to them to continue to live well. We work in partnership to explore each person's unique choices about their self-care, leisure, productivity and spiritual needs, ensuring family and loved ones form part of our team. Most people think of 'hospice' as care for those at end of life. However, our Living Well Service aims to support people living with a life limiting illness earlier, so that they can confidently enjoy an active, fulfilling and joyful life .

We are passionate about working closely with those we serve, and aim to reach all those who might benefit from our exceptional person-centred care.
