Story
Hello we are Runday.
We are a mixed ability running group who have come together to create a team, setting ourselves a challenge of running a half marathon. Some of us have achieved this already and wanted to achieve it again as well as offering support and encouragement to our fellow team mates. For the majority of us, this is our FIRST ever half marathon. Every team member has a different story and journey into their running life, but this has definitely been a challenge for all of us. We have been working hard on our training, attending sessions together, completing long runs and trying not to feel overwhelmed with it all along with every day life. Along with achieving our own goals we thought it would be nice to spread awareness and help support this amazing charity by raising money to support their holiday home. Please continue to read all about Mia and how and why the charity got started.
The charity, Mia Moo’s Foundation.
Mia was 1½ yrs old when diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. After 2½ yrs of treatment Mia was given the all clear, but 7 months later Mia’s cancer returned & had to have a bone marrow transplant. In-between treatment & hospital stays, Mia was fortunate enough to have a holiday which she thoroughly enjoyed. The family set up a charity to purchase a holiday home, which they did in 2017 to provide holidays to other families affected by childhood cancer. The charity need to raise £8,000 a year to continue providing these holidays.
