Cycle ride · 1 May 2025

Our projects provide food and income for communities, tackling poverty today. They also offer long-term change, improving the environment and soil fertility and tackling the effects of the climate crisis, for tomorrow. Thank you for your support.

Story

The Whoosh team are off on another cycling adventure - this time raising money for Tree Aid. And this is the page to donate to the whole team (see names below).

Tree Aid are a fantastic charity who's aim is to tackle poverty mainly in the Sahel region of Africa through the growing of trees and the restoration and protection of land. Led by local people, their projects make sure trees thrive so they can provide nutritious food and incomes today, and look after the environment for tomorrow.

This year, the cycle ride takes us on the historic St Aidan's Way from Lindisfarne in Northumberland, through the highlands of Scotland and finishing on the small island of Iona in the West. Probably wet, definitely hilly and certainly tiring, the ride will challenge the ageing bodies and deteriorating mental capacities of the riders, but we are determined to make it to the end.

All donations are sent directly to the charity from JustGiving, with no costs deducted and as usual, the team fund all expenses themselves.

Anything you can give will make a tangible difference to the lives of people living in these dry and increasingly deforested parts of West Africa.
