Please help me raise money for The Gem Appeal.
Karen Johnson started The Gem Appeal in a race against time when her 2 boys were diagnosed with a rare genetic condition, called Hunter syndrome. There were no treatments, no cures, She had to watch her 2 boys deteriorate both mentally and physically, until sadly they lost their fights for life. The Gem Appeal has been up and running for 32 years, raising money for research and treatment for genetic disoders at The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. During that time, Gem Appeal supporters have raised money to build a Rssearch and Treatnent Unit, bought specialist medical equipment and funded pioneering research. Treatments have been developed in the laboratory, named after Karen's boys, lessening conditions, improving lives and giving hope and positivity for the future. There is still so much more to do.
