Story
This September, I’ll be marking a very special milestone – my 75th birthday.
To celebrate, I’ve set myself a meaningful challenge: walking 20 miles around the beautiful Lake Coniston in the Lake District. I won’t be doing it alone as my sister Lesley will be walking by my side, and our other two sisters, Meryl and Jen, will be there to cheer us on every step of the way.
We’re taking on this challenge in loving memory of baby May, my great-niece and Lesley’s granddaughter, who was stillborn in March 2020. Her loss is something our family will never truly get over. May was deeply loved and longed for, and her absence is felt every day.
We’ve chosen to raise funds for SANDS, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, in the hope that our walk can help them continue their vital work: supporting families through the unimaginable pain of losing a baby. Every donation, no matter the size, will help make a difference. Thank you for supporting us and honouring May’s memory.
