Story
In March, I will be running 100km (62 miles) to raise money for Bliss, the charity for babies born premature or sick.
On 26th October 2023, my daughter Emily was born 3 months early (at 27 weeks) weighing just 680g. She spent the first 90 days of her life in neonatal intensive care (NICU), before finally coming home 2 days before her due date.
Time in NICU was tough and Bliss was an invaluable resource to help us navigate Emily's care: from understanding medical terminology, guiding us through all her procedures, providing practical support and everything in between.
If you would like to join me on a on this journey by running (or walking) a 5km with me in London - then please let me know!
And it goes without saying that anything you can donate to support Bliss would mean the world to my family, and also to the very many families I know they help. Thank you.
More about Bliss...
1 in every 7 babies born in the UK will need specialist care.
Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. They rely on donations to fund their work, and without our help they won't be able to reach the 90,000 babies needing neonatal care each year.
Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.
