Story
It is with a very heavy heart that we let you know that on Wednesday 22nd April, after a year of bravely fighting, MND took Neil away from us and he is now at peace.
We thank you for your kind words and continued donations to MND Scotland. We wish, more than anything, for a miracle cure that will mean nobody else has to go through what Neil and our family have had to endure.

My Grandpa
My Grandpa can’t ride any of his bike’s anymore,
And he can’t run like the wind through the Arthur’s Seat grass like he did before.
My Grandpa can’t turn us upside down and spin us around,
We are too heavy for him to be able to do that now.
My Grandpa has Motor Neuron Disease which is called MND for short,
We want to raise money to find a cure and would really love your support.
MND stole my Grandpa’s voice,
He now uses his iPad to help him make any noise.
MND stole my Grandpa’s ability to chew, swallow and eat,
He can’t have a Bombay Bad Boy pot noodle as a little treat.
MND means my Grandpa has to be fed through a tube into his tummy,
If the liquid is too cold, he can feel it and we think it’s a little bit funny!
MND means my Grandpa can choke on his saliva and spit,
So he has a funky machine that helps us suck it out bit by bit.
MND means my Grandpa’s breathing needs to be tracked,
So when he is sleeping he wears a special and very tight fitting mask.
I think MND is trying to steal my Grandpa from me,
Over the last few months he has changed quite rapidly.
Don’t worry though Grandpa, we don’t care that you can’t do the things you used to do,
Because you’re our Grandpa and we have so much love and admiration for you!
** Poem written with words inspired by what Rory, Elsie, Cara and Lucy had to say about their Grandpa**

Rory and Cara are taking on the EMF 2k on 23rd May.
Elsie and Lucy are taking on the EMF 1.5k on 23rd May.
All children are raising money for MND Scotland who are the only Scottish charity providing care and support to people affected by Motor Neuron Disease (MND), as well as funding research to take us a step closer to a cure.
MND Scotland have already been a huge support support to our family.
