Charity walk from bristol to Plymouth · 10 June 2026

ANDYSMANCLUB facilitates groups where men aged 18 and above can speak openly about their issues in a non judgmental environment through shared experiences. Groups run nationwide every Monday 7pm except bank holidays and are completely volunteer-led with no charge to any man.

Story

We are 4 average guys living in the south west who want to make a difference, to remind ourselves, our friends, our family and any man that it’s okay not to be okay! We have all in some way been affected by mental health, seen our friends and loved ones struggle with their own mental health but sadly we have lost some really special people along the way due to men’s mental health. If we can raise money to continue the incredible work of Andy’s Man Club, raise awareness for men’s mental health, stop the stigma and remind men in particular that WE will always listen.

The guys are planning a charity WALK from Bristol to Plymouth in just 4 days!!! NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT, NO CARS, NO BIKES, JUST WALKING on their own two feet. The whole walk will be a total of 123 miles!! The walk will begin at Bristol Hippodrome on Wednesday 10th June, most days we will be walking for around 12 hours a day with the longest walk taking approximately 13 hours. There will be stops along the way which include Bridgwater, Collumpton, Newton Abbot before finally stopping at Plymouth Hoe on Saturday 13th June roughly at 1500.

We would LOVE not only for people to come and meet us along the route but for people to generously donate and promote Men’s mental health and #ItsOkayToTalk. It would mean nothing more to us than to smash this target, get support along the way to know what we are going to do is truly going to make a difference to our friends/families and most importantly Men’s mental health awareness. PLEASE dig deep into your pockets and support us in what is going to be a gruelling 4 days but all for a very worthy cause.

Wes would like to dedicate this walk to Steve Barnes who was a good friend who lost his battle to mental health. There are people out there who are there to help, who are there to listen - however lonely you feel, you are never alone!

Dan - “ This walk is a huge personal challenge for me, driven by a very personal reason. I lost my best friend to mental health, and if raising awareness or funds helps even one person speak up or feel less alone, then we’ve done our job.“

Steve and Al live in Bristol where Wes grew up and has known Steve since becoming childhood friends. Wes now lives in Plymouth with Dan and the connections between Plymouth and Bristol for Wes and his family in particular has always been special.

“ANDYSMANCLUB has free support groups nationwide, running every Monday from 7PM except bank holidays. In these groups, men can open up about the storms affecting their lives in a safe, judgement-free and non-clinical environment. Our clubs are designed to be free of pressure, there is no obligation for men to speak, they can simply listen if they wish.

With thousands of men using our sessions every week, and an army of volunteers on board, the movement is continuing to grow week-by-week. We firmly believe in the power of talking and that #ItsOkayToTalk.”

The aim of the club is to provide men with a safe space where they feel comfortable to talk and open up about their experiences in a room free of judgment.
