Wes's fundraiser for Mouth Cancer Foundation

Coast to Coast Hadrian's Wall Walk · 30 July 2023
Late in 2022 I had reason to visit my GP with a small white patch on the side of my tongue that was painless but didn't go away. Despite my GP assuring me that their hunch that all was ok I was put into the fast track cancer diagnosis system.
Two weeks for an appointment with a consultant , two weeks to have the biopsy and two weeks until my diagnosis consultation. The Great Western Hospital were amazing and with relief after those 6 weeks I was told all was Ok and to monitor things going forward.
They were the longest 6 weeks of my life. When Dentists do mouth examinations they check for tooth and gum disorders but also check for signs of Oral cancers. With the lack of NHS dentists and free dental healthcare self examination is critical.
I intend to complete the 84 mile Hadrian's Wall walk in the summer of 2023 in 5 day to raise funds that will help raise awareness and encourage more people understand what the signs are.
SO PLEASE SUPPORT ME and give what you can.
Cheers
Wes
