Story
At West Dorset Leisure Holidays, we are incredibly proud of our local heritage and the beautiful coastline we call home. That’s why this year, the WDLH team is continuing a legendary Bridport tradition by entering the West Bay Raft Race!
The Raft Race has been a staple of our community since the 1960s. It’s an evening of laughter, questionable engineering and inevitable dunkings in the River Brit - but most importantly, it’s an evening of coming together to support a vital cause.
Why the RNLI?
As a business located right on the Jurassic Coast, we know firsthand the incredible work the RNLI Lifeboats and Lifeguards do to keep our community and our holiday guests safe. They are a charity funded by your kind donations, and we want to do our part to ensure they can continue saving lives at sea.
The Challenge
Our team is currently busy designing (and hopefully waterproofing!) a home-made raft to navigate the River Brit. We’ll be dressed in our best comedy guises and aiming to make that famous U-turn without sinking - though history suggests that might be easier said than done!
How you can help
We would be so grateful if our members, guests and friends could support us. Every pound raised goes directly to the RNLI. Whether it’s £5 or £50, your donation helps provide the kit and training our local lifesavers need.
If you’re in the area on Thursday 23rd July, come down to West Bay at 6pm to cheer us on (or watch us capsize!).
Thank you for your support!
