Prostate Cancer is the most common form of cancer for men in the UK and it’s not surprising that most of us know someone who has suffered or is suffering from it. In the absence of a national screening programme, essential early diagnosis is frequently missed.

As in previous years, West Kirby Rotary Club members will be doing their bit to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK in support of prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment. We’ll be running a hybrid cycling event aiming to complete a 200Km virtual route around North Western cancer centres (Countess of Chester, Clatterbridge, Arrow Park, Royal Liverpool, Christies (Manchester) & back to Broadgreen), although with support of family, friends and fellow Rotarians we hope to ride much further! We’d really like to beat last year’s total mileage (kilometrage?) which exceeded 400Km.

To kick off our Rotary Ride fundraising all are welcome, irrespective of age and cycling experience, outside the West Kirby Concourse Sports Centre on Saturday 21st of June 2025 from 9:00 until 13:00 where we will have 2 static bikes pedalling away, under cover, with the miles clocked up on our laser display board. Please come along to support if you can.

Alternatively, under your own steam, and responsibility, you can ride your real bike whenever and wherever you choose during the week (to allow everyone time to participate when they can), and tag West Kirby Rotary on Facebook, Instagram or X with the distance travelled to be added to the static total (photos very welcome!).

Many thanks to the West Kirby Concourse team for continuing to provide the bikes and support and to Home Instead for agreeing to provide a cafe for refreshments inside West Kirby Library, just behind our bikes.
