Story
On 16th August, I’ll be taking on the challenge of running the West Highland Way — 96 miles over 4 days— in support of the amazing charity, Lyme Resource Centre.
Many of you will know how I have seen first hand how this disease can affect a persons life and if treatment is not given quickly how it can spiral. Thanks to alot of research and quick actions we have seen a quicker recovery than most have. That said, the journey hasn’t been easy — a year away from work, countless daily medications, and many challenges along the way. But each hurdle has been faced head-on, and we now look back with hope, using our experience as a guide to help others going through the same.
I’ve chosen to run for the Lyme Resource Centre (LRC) because of the vital work they do to raise awareness — not just in Scotland, but across the UK. The more awareness and support we can give, the better equipped they’ll be to help those affected in the future.
Lyme disease doesn’t stop at the Scottish border — ticks are found all over the UK. https://www.lymeresourcecentre.com
