Story

WH Flooring & Tiling are getting together as a company to walk the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on Friday 02/05/25 to raise money for Cancer Research UK, a charity very close to our hearts.
Our office and site teams will be completing the walk as a team and are looking for your donations to help us achieve the ambitious target of £5000.00
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a 24-miles (38.6km) round trip route, including 1585m (5200ft) of ascent.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), in this order under 12 hours.
There are more than 385,000 new cancer cases in the UK every year, that's more than 1,000 every day. Almost everyone will encounter cancer, either directly or through a family member. This is especially poignant within the family of WH's company owner Wayne. Wayne's parents both passed away from cancer and his older sister is currently fighting stage 4 breast cancer.
Mandy was diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2007, the same cancer which Wayne's mum passed away from at just 27 years of age. Mandy's cancer has since returned in 2022 and she doing a great job in raising money for Cancer research despite her ongoing health battle. She has been the inspiration for our company challenge and fundraising.
A special mention needs to be made to our contracts manager Carl Handley who as an extra challenge, will be running 37 miles from WH's base in Bradford to Horton In Ribblesdale through the night in order to meet the team at sunrise to then start the 3 peaks walk. A massive effort of 61 miles in 24 hours for Carl.
WH Flooring & Tiling Ltd will be sponsoring the costs of the event with travel, accommodation and sustenance provided to all taking part.
