Story
This year Katherine, Lucy and Bernard are attempting to complete the 17 mile Wharfedale Three Peaks Challenge carrying a stretcher on their backs.
Although the stretcher is designed to be carried on the hill it is not designed to be carried over prolonged periods. It’s heavy, cumbersome and has little padding and is certainly not designed for carrying over 17 miles of hilly boggy terrain.
Why do this to yourself? The reason; because these mountain rescuers want to raise crucial funds so that their mountain rescue team - UWFRA can purchase a new rescue sled for undertaking rescues in swift water environments.
Please do donate however small, so that UWFRA can continue to support saving lives, above and below ground in the Yorkshire Dales!
