This Christmas Day, my family and I are hosting a Community Christmas Day Lunch for individuals and couples in my grandmother's village of Wheathampstead who would otherwise be spending Christmas alone.

For many of us, Christmas is a busy time time of year surrounded by family and friends, but for others it can be a very isolating period. We hope to bring people together over a Christmas Lunch with all the trimmings.

We have been generously supported by many local shops and residents who have very kindly provided food and gifts - Brewhouse Coffee, COOK, The Co-op, Coppertop, Flowers by Catherine, Loafing, Manor Pharmacy, M&S, Nonno's Pizza, Parker & Vine, The Reading Rooms, Sainsbury's, The Swan, Tesco, Waitrose, Wheathampstead Butchers, Wheathampstead Fryer and Wine Rack - as well as the offer of a venue from The Chapel Hall, Brewhouse Hill. Therefore, any donations we receive from those attending the Lunch, and yourselves, will go directly to the St Albans & District Foodbank.
