The Whitby 300

Ross Rogers is raising money for CCFC Foundation

Walk from Whitby to Chesham · 10 April 2026

To advance education, promote community participation in healthy recreation, by providing facilities for football and other sports, safe spaces for sports, leisure time occupations for children, young people and the elderly. Including those with additional needs through poverty, disablement, age, or social welfare. Facilitating active promotion of health, wellbeing & social inclusion.

Story

The Supporters of Chelmsford City are once again hitting the trails, footpaths and hills of the UK in another attempt to raise some funds for a deserving local charity, this time our club's very own CCFC Foundation.

The Foundation is dedicated to creating safe and inclusive spaces for all and supporting families in times of need in a community-driven effort to uplift and empower individuals and families across Chelmsford. Together, let’s change lives one kick at a time and create a community where everyone feels they belong.

This year we will be walking from Whitby to our final away game of the season at Chesham.

Whitby being the UK’s spiritual home of Count Dracula, what better place to assemble a team of horrors than the steps of Whitby Abbey - before setting off on new territory down south.

We’ll pass through Heartbeat turf, the North York Moors, before resting in beautiful Harrogate, then on to pass Headingly and Elland Road, before we rather appropriately wander through Holmfirth - where Last of the Summer Wine was filmed. One final major obstacle after that will be the Peak District, and we’ll traverse Kinder Scout and Snake Pass, before settling in to the final slog through the midland badlands to Chesham.

The group, as always, are all self-funding, taking time out of work schedules, and any help is gratefully received if you can.

For this edition of our escapades we have Gavin, Ross, Jon, David, Richard, Connor, Chris, Kieran, Jack, Tom and Jasper along with Mark (H) returning behind the wheel.

Training has begun, and things are about to get serious!
