Whitchurch Canonicorum - St. Candida and Holy Cross

UPDATE

On one of the hottest days of the year our gallant band of Striders completed a walk of over nine miles, calling at three local churches en route, arriving back at Whitchurch hot but happy! (See photo above).

The tractor ride organised by Robin Symonds was also a great success, raising no less than £175.

Ride+Stride is an annual event during which our supporters raise money for DHCT and for their own church by riding, cycling or walking, running and tractoring, between our beautiful and interesting churches and chapels. DHCT uses half the money raised to fund vital repairs to roofs, windows and fabric while the other half is returned to nominated churches - in our case St Candida and Holy Cross - to help with their own maintenance. DHCT grants aid the provision of facilities such as kitchenettes and lavatories so that our churches are more usable throughout the week for community activities.

Last year we raised £811 and we hope to reach at least £1,000 in 2023!

In 2022, DHCT raised £87k from Ride and Stride and funded grants totalling £103k.
