On Saturday 19th July, students and staff from Northallerton School and Sixth Form College will be undertaking the White Rose Walk Challenge. This involves walking 37 miles along the rolling hills and moorland of the Cleveland Way, from the White Horse, in Kilburn (Thirsk), to the peak of Roseberry Topping. The challenge is in aid of raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which is a really special and worthy cause that means a lot to our school community in memory of Grace Sanderson.

The Teenage Cancer Trust provides a world class cancer service for young people in the UK, providing life changing care and support so young people don’t have to face cancer alone.

Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”. They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through the toughest of times. The Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need.

Grace wanted to bring awareness & raise funds for the charity who helped her so much, because she can’t do this, we as her family & friends will continue to do this for her and in her memory.

Grace was a student and an amazing friend and always wanted to help. She loved school and loved Sixth Form. Raising money for a cause which was so close to Grace was everything she wanted and helping others in the same position as she was.
