Group Bike Ride · 30 September 2023

We are one parish with two churches (St. Paul's and St. Saviour's). We reflect a range of Christian traditions and worship styles. What unites us is our Biblical faith and our parish aim: "in God's strength, to bring Jesus to the centre of our lives and to the heart of the community".

Story

Whoosh is a group of amateur cyclists who regularly cycle somewhere in the UK to raise money for good causes. On September 30, eight of the group plan to ride their bikes 100 miles in a day through London. The aim is to help raise the remaining £6,500 needed to start £70,000 worth of restoration work on the beautiful Victorian Norman and Beard Organ at St Paul's Church, one of the Parish of Herne Hill's two church buildings.

Two of the registers of this key community asset no longer work. Many of the pipes are damaged. Repairs are urgently needed to restore the organ to full working order. Once repaired, it can again take its place at the heart of the church's Sunday worship and at other community events such as concerts.

The route will go through or past each of the capital's royal parks: Bushy Park, Richmond Park, Brompton Cemetery, Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Green Park, St James's Park, Victoria Tower Gardens, Primrose Hill, Regent's Park and Greenwich Park.

We hope you'll consider supporting the group with sponsorship for their efforts.
