Thistle supports people living with long-term health conditions or facing challenging life circumstances to take back control of their lives, and ensure that a health crisis doesn't become a life crisis.

Story

I will be raising money for Connecting Craigmillar, a part of the Thistle Foundation, whilst attempting the 'Walker's Haute route' through the French and Swiss Alps, connecting Chamonix and Zermatt. It typically takes 10-14 days of hiking, passing through varied alpine landscapes with high mountain passes, rocky terrain, and charming villages. The route offers stunning views of iconic peaks like Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.

I can be live-tracked through Garmin Mapshare and everything will be filmed and turned into an entertaining documentary at some point.

Connecting Craigmillar works to enable opportunities for local people to meet, have fun, learn, form new friendships and develop lasting, positive change together.

It is for local residents of all ages and backgrounds in Craigmillar and Niddrie to develop projects, groups, events, and activities around what they are interested in, and to focus on things they want to learn about and change.

The aim and ethos of the project is supporting mutual aid, peer support, informal learning, and community-led action. If you live in the area or know someone that does, you can get in touch with Connecting Craigmillar who can support you to develop an idea, passion, or interest, or act on an issue you care about.
