SOS – Support Our Steps

On Friday the 11th of September, seven female RNLI fundraising volunteers will take on an unforgettable challenge: trekking approximately 45 miles along the Caithness coastline from The Trinkie in Wick to Helmsdale Harbour.

Carrying the Wick Lifeboat flag every step of the way, we'll spend two nights rough camping outdoors in Lybster and Berriedale before reaching our finish line in Helmsdale at lunchtime.

We're undertaking this challenge in aid of Wick Lifeboat, in memory of Gary Macmillan, whose dedication to Wick RNLI inspired so many. Through his incredible model boat display in Helmsdale, Gary raised more than £31,000. We hope our journey will honour his remarkable legacy by raising even more for the charity he cared so deeply about.

Every mile we walk is for the volunteer crews who are ready to answer the call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The RNLI is a charity that saves lives at sea, and every launch depends on the generosity of people like you.

Wick Lifeboat Station is crewed by volunteers who provide a vital search and rescue service around one of the UK's most challenging coastlines. Your donation will help ensure they have the training, equipment and resources needed to continue saving lives when every second counts.
