Story
The National Church Residences Hospice Caregiver Support Fund provides specially trained helpers to families caring for a loved one on hospice at home, helping to alleviate caregiver burnout and prevent caregiver crisis.
Jim's health is declining. In past years, he was often seen outside tending to the yard or doing home improvement projects. Jim has been inside more often and slowing down. Jim is unable to do some tasks himself now. Through the Caregiver Support Program, Jim and his wife, Ann, have been given the extra support they need. Ann, who is facing her own health challenges, appreciates the help with household tasks that allow her to spend more time with Jim. Jim and Ann enjoy the extra socialization and companionship with their caregiver and their ability to share their faith and pray with her. The Caregiver Support Program provides assistance with household tasks, but more importantly, provides companionship and emotional support.
