Story
In January, I'm attempting the Arc of Attrition, the UKs hardest 100-mile footrace, to raise funds for the Brilliant Charity Babyzone.
Babyzone is a provides a completely accessible and free early years service to families in underserved areas. It is unique because it:
· Offers the highest-quality classes that give carers and parents the tools and confidence to develop with their child in the at-home learning environment.
· Has exceptional partnerships that allow it to offer holistic support through health, provision of clothing and supplies, support in challenging circumstances such as domestic violence, etc. Babyzone serves as the nexus of early years support in its communities.
· Works closely with OnSide Youth Zones, giving it access to the highest quality spaces that are welcoming, clean, warm, fit for purpose and comfortable.
· Through its physical space, creates an environment for parents to form a community and offer mutual support to each other.
Babyzone is a lifeline for families in need. By giving parents and carers a community, holistic support, and the toolkit to support their children at home, it enables families to thrive.
In two months, I'll be attempting The Arc of Attrition, a non-stop 100-mile race along circumnavigating the Cornish on the South West Coastal Path. The race is held in January and is notorious for the challenging terrain and inclement weather. The race needs to be completed in under 36-hours, with the majority of this time spent in darkness.
I am covering all costs associated with the event and all funds go direct to Babyzone.
