Story
In October this year, I will be running the Yorkshire Marathon in support of Verity, the UK’s leading charity for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) – a condition that affects 1 in 8 women in the UK.
PCOS is a hormonal disorder that can cause a wide range of symptoms, from fertility issues and irregular periods to acne, weight gain, and mental health challenges. Despite its prevalence, PCOS remains underfunded, misunderstood, and often misdiagnosed.
Verity is a volunteer-led charity that provides advocacy, education, and peer support for those affected by PCOS. They work tirelessly to improve public understanding, influence healthcare policy, and empower women to manage their condition.
This condition impacts people who are very close to me and I have seen the impact and frustration caused by the lack of awareness and research funding available. So in the Autumn I will be lacing up my trainers and doing my best to haul myself around the fields and villages around York in support of Verity’s mission.
If you can spare anything to support this amazing charity, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps Verity continue their vital work and provide advocacy and support to the millions of women living with PCOS.
Thank you for your support!
