Story
Many in the North Isles, like myself, know first hand how important Clan and their support can be in the toughest of times. They help out not just the individual battling cancer, but also their closest family and friends. The support they offer, particularly when having to travel South for ongoing treatment is invaluable to our islands communities.
Myself and 3 friends (all Orcadians) decided late last year to take up the challenge of completing an Ironman 70.3 Triathlon, and signed up for Weymouth on 17th Sept 23. The event consists of:
1.9km swim
90km cycle
21.1km run
This is a first time for any of us completing an event of this distance. The training up to now has been an eye opener, but we're all on a good path, feeling positive as we get closer. Initially I would have been content just reaching the finish line, but now I'm aiming for a time of 6hrs 30mins.
I would be supremely grateful for any support you can show for this great cause.
It's fundraisers like you that ensure Clan is here to help people live with and beyond their or their loved one's cancer diagnosis, and improve the quality of life for all those who turn to us for support.
