Story
In September, 2023, I will be competing in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race as a circumnavigator. This will take place over 11 months, finishing in July/August, 2024. Poor mental health is a problem which I feel is becoming ever prevalent in the world we live in, whether it affects us individually, or whether we see its effects on our friends and loved ones.
James' Place:
'At James' Place, our mission is to stop men dying by suicide. Yet, in the UK suicide is still the single leading cause of death of men under 50. We believe that no man should face a suicidal crisis alone. James' Place provides free, professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future.'
They are a charity offering free, life-saving treatment to suicidal men in their centres in Liverpool and London.

'We are unique because our treatment is proven to work, quick to access and delivered in a safe, friendly, non-clinical environment by trained, professional therapists.'
'We have treated over 1,500 suicidal men since 2018, delivering over 7,500 therapy sessions.'
James' Place helps men in suicidal crisis find hope for the future. They have a clear goal of raising £10 million to open three more centres by 2026, which will allow them to treat 2,000 suicidal men every year.
This is a problem which is very close to my heart.
