Story
The Core @ FAW24
Five Acre Wood School and Core The Gym are coming together for The Core @ FAW24 – a 24-hour cardio challenge with one powerful goal: to raise funds for a fully adapted fitness space for pupils at Five Acre Wood School’s Oxford Road site.
Over a full 24 hours, pupils, staff, friends, and members of the local community will be running, cycling, and rowing at Core the Gym, taking turns on cardio equipment and keeping the challenge going day and night.
💪Why are we fundraising?
We are raising money to create a bespoke, fully accessible gym for our pupils, built from a converted shipping container on site. This innovative gym will be designed especially for pupils with profound, severe, and complex learning difficulties. It will offer:
✨ Tailored movement and therapy sessions
✨ Work experience & independence opportunities
✨ A safe, accessible space to build confidence, wellbeing, and life skills
Not every pupil can access a mainstream gym comfortably or safely — and that’s why this project matters. Together, we can give these young people a space to move, grow, and thrive. 💚
🌟 How you can help
Every donation – big or small – will help turn this vision into reality. By supporting The Core @ FAW24, you are helping to create a space that will benefit pupils for years to come. Your support will directly change lives — promoting health, independence, and opportunity for every learner involved.
Thank you for supporting our pupils, our staff, and everyone taking part in this incredible 24-hour challenge.
