Story
I am running the 2026 London Marathon because I want to help Meningitis Research Foundation (MSF) achieve their goal of a world free from meningitis.
When I had my own battle with meningitis, it was the quick actions of the doctors & nurses at HMS Raleigh and Derriford hospital that saved my life. I feel that if I can help raise awareness of the disease and support the research needed in diagnosing and treating future cases, hopefully everyone diagnosed can receive the swift treatment needed to ensure they also fully recover.
Young children, teenagers and young adults can be highly vulnerable of catching meningitis, and the effects are life threatening, without the prompt diagnosis and treatment. Bacterial meningitis is the deadliest form of meningitis, with the World Health Organization estimating that around one in six people who get it will die.
I am hoping to raise as much possible, to help MSF continue to carry out the excellent research, that helps scientists, researchers and public health practitioners better understand meningitis, its impact on people’s lives, and what to do to defeat it.
Thank you for any donation you can, it is greatly appreciated ☺️
