We are aiming to raise money for at least one of The Indee Rose Trust’s treasure boxes, to creative positive memories for at least one child on their journey 💕

My Grandad, William (Bill) Dunks, was a very respected man within Canvey Island and had built a reputation for himself locally through football.

Bill was a typical young boy growing up in North London, playing football in the streets and at Hackney Marshes on a Sunday. Bill then went on to become an Arsenal Youth player in 1962.

In 1970, Bill and Val move to Canvey as newly weds. After a couple of years of settling down, Bill began to manage his first team on Canvey… the rest is history.

Bill’s football life spanned many years and overtime, he became a mentor for so many people. Someone for a lot of young people to look up to.

This match is to honour his life in football and for us to give to the community, just like he always did ❤️

We have decided to utilise this event to raise funds for The Indee Rose Trust as it is a charity that is much loved and recognised within the local community. Family members of Indee Rose are also friends of the Dunks’ and so this means a great deal to us.
