The Star Box has been created by health care professionals and previous patients to deliver a box of small, comforting items for new patients receiving cancer treatment on the Shooting Star Unit at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Story

The Star Box Fund was created by six volunteers to bring something comforting to new patients embarking on their cancer journey.

In November 2021, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer and have since then been treated by the amazing team at the Shooting Star clinic in Wrexham. Everyone’s cancer journey will be different, but my experience is that little, positive things can have a huge impact on wellbeing on a day-to-day basis.

The Star Box contains small, comforting items and useful information to help patients feel more at ease on the first day of their treatment.

Each box costs around £15 so I want to help bring as many of these boxes to patients as possible!
