Why I’m Supporting Age UK
In June I’m taking on the UK Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Age UK, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours.
Supporting older people is something that means a lot to me personally. My grandmother is 102 years old, and seeing her reach that incredible age has made me appreciate how important it is that older people feel supported, connected and valued in later life.
Age UK provides vital services that help make that possible for thousands of people across the country. Your donation will help fund support such as:
The Age UK Advice Line
Expert guidance on health, housing, benefits, care and more. It’s a lifeline for older people who need support and reassurance.
Just £10 can help fund a call to the Age UK Advice Line — a single call that can change someone’s day, or even their life.
The Telephone Friendship Service
Pairing older people with volunteers for regular chats to help reduce loneliness and isolation.
£25 can help connect three older people with a long-term telephone friend.
Local Age UK services
Community support including day centres, home visits, practical help and social groups that keep people connected and independent.
If you’re able to support the challenge, any donation would be hugely appreciated.
