Story
I'm intending to run the Brighton Marathon for PSPA, the charity that is dedicated to creating a better future for everyone affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Corticobasal Degeneration.
My mother-in-law Irene was diagnosed with PSP around 10 years ago, and I've seen first hand the impact that this terrible disease has had on her, and on her family now needing to provide a lot of support to Irene. We have personally appreciated the support and advice PSPA provides, as well as wanting to do anything to raise money for research into how to treat these illnesses in the future.
This will be the first time I've attempted to run a marathon, so any and all support for this wonderful charity will be very much appreciated.
I developed Achilles tendonitis a few weeks ago that meant I had to take around a month off running. Right now, 4 weeks before the marathon, the tendonitis seems to have gone away, and I'm able to start running again - and I will attempt to complete the marathon if the tendonitis stays away. If it reoccurs then I will very reluctantly have to withdraw, but I will then look for another event to complete once I've fully recovered.
