Story
On the 31st August, I’ll be setting sail as part of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race — I am planning on completing the 6,000 nautical mile Atlantic crossing which will push me far beyond my comfort zone. With no previous sailing experience, I’ve committed to crossing this ocean in one of the most demanding endurance races on Earth.
Why? Because I want to test myself. I want to experience the exhilaration — and pressure — of operating in a high-performing team where the stakes are real and every decision matters.
But more than that, I want to use this challenge to raise funds and awareness for a cause very close to my heart: Hospitality Action.
Why I’m Supporting Hospitality Action
After nearly three decades in hospitality, I know just how hard people in our industry work — often quietly, often under immense pressure. Hospitality Action offers vital support to those facing crisis, illness, mental health challenges, or financial hardship. They’re there for the people who make this industry special — chefs, porters, front-of-house staff, housekeepers, and more.
Through this race, I want to give something back to the industry that has given me so much.
How You Can Help
Every donation, big or small, will help change lives. Your support will keep me motivated during cold nights, long shifts on deck, and the toughest conditions at sea — knowing that together, we’re helping someone in hospitality get the support they need when they need it most.
Please give what you can. Let’s turn a personal challenge into something truly meaningful.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
