Edinburgh Marathon 2024 · 26 May 2024 ·

We strongly believe that everyone with sight loss deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life. We don’t just see blindness. We see far beyond this. We see opportunities. We see hope. We see possibilities, not barriers, not boundaries, not barricades.

Story

On Sunday 26th May, I’ll be running 26 miles in the Edinburgh Marathon to raise funds for Sight Scotland and support children like Sofie who are visually impaired, blind or suffer from sight loss.

When Sofie was 6 months old, we realised something was seriously wrong with her vision. Several months later Sofie was diagnosed with retinal dystrophy, a condition incredibly rare in children and something she will have for life. To receive this news was devastating.

During this time and over the ensuing months we’ve been fortunate to have loved ones and family, and also Sight Scotland in our lives to help give us all the best possible support.

I’d be so grateful if you could please help me ensure other children, adults and families experiencing sight loss, visual impairment and blindness in Scotland get the support they need to live their best possible lives by donating to my just giving page.

Thank you,

William
