Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our son Walter is a happy, kind and charming little boy, born in December 2023 and twin to Beatrice and younger brother to George. He was diagnosed in November 2025 with a genetic condition called Creatine Transporter Deficiency (CTD). CTD is a very rare condition, thought to impact a far greater number of people, but due to a lack of testing, it is rarely diagnosed. There is currently no cure, but research into the condition is producing positive results. CTD causes global development and speech/language delays.

To aid Walter with his development he visits Devizes Opportunity Centre weekly, where the fantastic staff support and help him and us through play and therapeutic care. This is a wonderful organisation that truly deserves as much support as possible .

To raise money for the centre, I’ve decided to rope in some friends and walk a ~55 mile section of the Cotswold Way (roughly half the distance), from Stroud to Bath, over the August bank holiday weekend. Having never moved much voluntarily, unless chasing a ball of some sort with the promise of food and beer at the end, this will be a challenge! Any donation would be gratefully received and will go to help the children and families that are supported by Devizes Opportunity Centre.
