24hr Three Peaks Challenge · 12 September 2024

Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is a charity that delivers specialist palliative care to adult patients of all ages who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses in the North West Surrey region, providing free of charge holistic care and support services both in our hospice and in homes.

Story

Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is a charity that cares for thousands of patients, their carers and families each year, of which I have experienced first-hand. They specialise in delivering holistic care for patients with progressive advanced conditions that are life limiting. The hospice’s care is delivered in the community in patient homes, in care or nursing homes or through its In-patient unit in the hospice; as well as through the Bradbury Wellbeing Centre, which delivers care to patients and carers.

I'll be doing the National 3 Peaks Challenge with the team at Altum which involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - the equivalent of climbing up the Burj Khalifa 4 times!

The peaks are:

Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)

Scafell Pike, in England (978m)

Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m)

Altum are truly committed to supporting good causes, read more about our previous adventures here https://www.altum-group.com/foundation

Anything you can give, whatever size, will be donated in its entirety to Woking & Sam Beare Hospice to help with the amazing work they do!
