William & Georgia’s Big 5 Challenge

5K Walk & 5K Cycle · 5 August 2025
As most of you know, William became critically ill with sepsis in 2020. Thanks to the incredible care and expertise of Nottingham Hospital, he survived. However he lost both legs and parts of nine fingers along side multiple other health issues.
Last year he chose to mark the 4th anniversary of his amputations with a 4 mile challenge. We were blown away by the support we received and the incredible amount of money he raised.
This year both William & little sister Georgia, who is his number 1 supporter, have been asking to fundraise again. Due to waiting for a surgery date we haven’t been able to plan.
However now we know when his surgery is, a new challenge has been set! A 5K walk, followed by a 5K cycle. All in one day! On the 5th August to make 5 years since his survival. This is going to be no easy challenge for William on his prosthetics, and he will need to start training as soon as he is given this go ahead to get back on his prosthetics after surgery
William has asked if we could raise money for Sepsis this year as well as the hospital that saved his life. We couldn’t think of a better charity to support than Sepsis Research Feat who have been incredibly supportive of our family the last few years. Not only do they campaign to raise awareness of sepsis, they also fund groundbreaking research to better understand and treat sepsis.
Nottingham Hospitals Charity are incredibly close to our hearts. They make life a little easier for people going through the darkest times. We were eternally grateful to benefit from the parent accommodation when William was in PICU and beyond and we couldn’t bear to be away from him. This was fully funded by the charity.
If you are able, please donate and please share to help support two very worthy charities.
