MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
On Saturday 19th August, 2023, I walked 60kms(+) around the Wirral Circular Trail (The route map is outlined underneath - originally marked to do it over two days - but managed to achieve it in one).
I turned 60 (I know!) in 2023 and this year is also the 40th anniversary year of Wirral Hospice St John’s.
I thought it might be a great time to do something to raise funds for the hospice by tying in my 60th birthday year with a 60km walk challenge.
Starting and finishing at the war memorial at Port Sunlight I walked clockwise, via Eastham Country Park - Willaston - Neston - Lower Heswall -Thurstaston - West Kirby - Hoylake - Meols - Moreton/Leasowe - New Brighton - Seacombe - Woodside - Birkenhead - Rock Ferry/New Ferry - around the Wirral Way/Wirral Circular Trail and back to the war memorial at Port Sunlight.
Between us, with your kind donations, we raised over £2,200! Many many heartfelt thanks for all the encouragement and support. It really is greatly appreciated.
Wirral Hospice St John’s really is the kindest place. Staff, volunteers and all of our supporters work together to help to provide the specialist care and support to help people with a whole range of life-limiting conditions, including cancer, COPD, motor neurone disease, heart, lung, liver and kidney diseases and more, to live as well as they can with their incurable illnesses, making every moment matter.
Much Love,
Billy
