Milton Keynes Memory Walk 2024 · 8 September 2024 ·
We're raising money for the vital work and support provided for the Alzheimer's Society at the Memory Walk in Milton Keynes on 8th September 2024 in loving memory of Len Willis and Michael Ward.
Len Willis was born in London and served in the RAF before training as an electrician. He was well known for his awful jokes, love of music and singing (especially Frank Sinatra) and sports like boxing and football (We Are QPR!).
Our team walking in his memory is his wife Shirley, children Linda and Gary and grandchildren Daniel and Nicola. The Alzheimer's Society provided crucial support to our family especially to Shirley as she cared for Len and we are looking forward to a day thinking of all our favourite memories with the Len we love so much and raise as much as we can for this crucial charity.
Michael Ward was born in Redbourn, he did his national service as a sergeant in the military police. He retired to live in France for several years alongside his wife Lucille. A lifelong prankster who loved to wind everyone up almost as much as he loved Luton Town Football Club.He was the youngest of five brothers and his love for music followed down through the family.
The Alzheimer’s society helped in his hour of need supporting with respite care for his wife Lucille and helping Michael keep social and active with day centres on a regular basis.
Our team walking in his memory is his daughter Adele, grandchildren Chris and Katie alongside her boyfriend Aaron. We know as a family Alzheimer’s is one of the most devastating things that can happen to a loved one, we are excited to have a day of remembering our dearest Michael and raising much needed funds for this amazing charity.
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
Please help us honour their memory and support other families affectedby Alzheimers by supporting us with a donation towards our goal.
A big thank you from the whole team! We've got our team tshirts and trainers ready!💙💙💙
