I am Will Passmore, a Medical Student at Manchester Medical School. On April 14th, 2024, I will run the Manchester Marathon for Devon In Sight.

In November, I experienced the loss of my beloved Grandfather, Ray Doughty, who served as a dedicated member of the board of Trustees for the charity. Ray battled Age-Related Macular Degeneration, and he was a direct beneficiary of the invaluable work carried out by the organisation. His gratitude towards the charity's impact on his life is immeasurable, and as a family, we share in that deep appreciation. This marathon is not just a personal endeavour but an important initiative to raise funds for this remarkable charity, aiming to empower more individuals, like my grandfather, who benefited from their support. In a poignant testament to his commitment, Ray participated in a meeting with the charity just days before his passing, expressing his enduring dedication to their cause. It is our collective hope that through this fundraising effort, we can contribute to the charity's mission and honour my grandfather’s desire to continue making a positive impact on the lives of those facing similar challenges.
