Story

Hi all

Back again with my hand out....This time using my legs to get up a mountain or two in my native Wales for a superb cause which has helped someone very close to me during and after their recovery from cancer previously.

Macmillan give people assistance at all stages of their journey and actually assist with grants for those who are getting back on their feet, which can be one of the most challenging aspects of the journey post illness.

As MacMillan Say

"Right now, more than 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 this figure will rise to 4 million.

We’re here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, by providing physical, financial and emotional support. We'll do whatever it takes, no matter what a person's needs are, we will listen and support them however they need us to — big or small."

So....

...as a keen (downhill, with the wind at my back) cyclist, I decided that this year I would try to build on my successful completion of the Manchester Marathon by testing myself on a bike (uphill, unfortunately) for this great cause. 200km of pain awaits around the Brecon Beacons which is mainly uphill.

The below may indicate the extent of this stupidity....
