Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 13th September 2025 a group of Windle International supporters will walk the marathon distance from Godstow to Brightwell along the Thames Towpath to keep refugee girls in Eastern Africa in education. We will raise sponsorship funding to address the severe cuts in support of refugees made by the US government and to ensure refugee girls have access to education. Many girls either do not start school or drop out and we are determined to address this challenge through innovation and engaging new donors.

- £100 will generate match funding from the EU to provide a full vocational training programme for a young person: --

- £400 will keep a refugee girl in secondary education in Uganda for a year.

Walk completed! Photos included. Many thanks to all those who took part and supported the walkers with tea and encouragement. The funds raised will transform the opportunities for a number of refugees in East Africa, and lay the foundation for future support.
