Story

Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to consider supporting my forthcoming attempt to complete the 178KM Winter Montane Spine Challenger South ultra-marathon on 10th January 2026.

I am running this race to help the Salford Lad's & Girls Club continue to 'Brighten Young Lives and Make Good Citizens' - a remarkable vision and legacy established by my great, great grandfather James Grimble Groves and his brother in 1903.

Anything you can give is enormously gratefully received and 100% of this goes to the front line of youth provision in Salford.

If you are at any level wondering "why" about this race, ultra running in general or "how" the Salford Lads and Girls Club helps young people today, please have a look at this article on Running for Good
